- Picture a white sand beach, the shade of a palm-frond, crystal-blue skies and ocean, a citrus-flavored drink in hand, and a singer who slides up to the microphone in front of a group of top-flight Latin jazz musicians to provide the perfect smooth, silky, sultry entertainment.
Irene and Her Latin Jazz Band play music that feels like a free ticket to the Caribbean, Central or South America, or even the South Seas.
For the last five years Irene has traveled to Tahiti two to three times a year to entertain at top rated hotels on the island of Bora Bora. She was nominated for the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Latin Jazz
The members of her band are top notch professionals.
Rique Pantoja (piano) plays on the upcoming CD. Rique is a well known pianist/musical director/arranger for some of the worlds top pop artists. He has worked with Ernie Watts, Chet Baker, Lee Ritenour, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana, Luis Conte, Abraham Laboriel, Justo Almario, Frank Gambale, Richie Garcia, Dave Weckl , Steps Ahead, Milton Nascimento, Ivan Lins, Gilberto Gil, Paulinho da Viola, Tim Maia, Martinho da Vila, Beth Carvalho, and others. He has won numerous awards including: 1990 Brahma Extra Award, "Grandes Nomes da Musica Popular Brasileira," Victor Assis Brasil Award, 1994 Cindy Award, 1994 Chicago InterCom Film/Video Award.
Scott Martin (saxophone and flute) has performed all over the world with many artists but is best known for his successful tenure with the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band for over thirteen years, winning a Grammy with the band. He is a well rounded versatile performer and had played with artist such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Francisco Aguabella, Ray Charles, Chick Corea, and Eddie Palmierei to name a few.
Frank Zottoli (piano and vocals) is a veteran of the Stan Getz Trio and traveled with him on his last several tours. He was conductor/pianist for the Pointer Sisters and Johnny Mathis. Frank will be singing on the next CD.
Marco Túlio (acoustic guitar) was the 1997 “Virtuosi Award” from the Ministry of Culture in Brazil. As a member of the band Klezmer Juice he recorded a song for the soundtrack of the hit film “The Wedding Crashers” starring Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn. Of Marco, Flora Purim the legendary Brazilian Jazz singer said, “Marco Túlio is one of the most promising musicians of the new generation of Brazilians that landed in the U.S. recently. His music is precise and gentle, and at the same time it commands attention and imagination.”
Cristiano Novelli (percussion) is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has toured throughout Europe, Brazil, the U.S. and the Caribbean. He performed at the 6th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with Diego Torres, Olga Tañon and Alexandre Pires. He has also appeared with Milton Nascimento, the great Antonio Adolfo, Kiko Furtado, Katia Moraes, Dominican singer Anais, Mexican singer Jimena and many others.
Daniel Groisman (bass) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. An accomplished bass player he has worked in both recording studios and live performances with a variety of artists, bands, television shows and stage productions. He has performed with artists such as Apllonia, Enrique Iglesias, Alejandro Sanz, and Joan Sebastian.
We have our own excellent sound system that is perfect for small events and can be loud enough for a five hundred seat theater. If you want to know more, please contact me.

EMMY AWARDS Show and Party review September 21, 2008
I attended the EMMY Awards last night at the new Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. I've been to the EMMY Awards many, many times so I thought I'd share a few thoughts with you.
