Interesting article. Lots of great info that just makes sense. Keeping your followers just amounts to being polite, really. And Twitter is not a forum for yelling, "BUY MY STUFF!" 100 times a day. Not sure I agree with the advice on DMs, though. Lots of people don't use DMs at all because of SPAM. And I'm not sure I agree that publicly thanking those who retweet equals saying "Look at how great I am!" While I'm sure there is an element of that, thanking people with an @ reply, gives them more exposure too, another chance to get more people interested in following them. After all, these are people who retweet - unlike 80% of the people on Twitter.
