Greetings, fellow A-V fans. I've been on the membership list here for a while, but haven't had much to say that didn't simply sound self-promotional. I believe the most effective application of a multi-source forum such as this would be if like-minded professionals could easilyassemble "virtual networks" to take on large-scale projects and national productions at geographically diverse venues. I've been involved in the media production business since time code was in Roman Numerals, but always glad to meet new friends and prospective project partners. This is a response to Angie. A little late since your post was Sept of 08! Yes, I have encountered some women in the industry (myself included), not as many as men though. I personally have witnessed some as FOH Engineers, Monitor Engineers and Stage Crew. I am partner in BASE Ltd and also do Monitor Engineering, Lighting and Manage the stage.......... depending on which hat I wear for the event! I think it would be great to train more woman in the industry and I think it has started. I hope I have helped at all......... and not just rambled!
